Snickerdoodles
These soft and slightly chewy cookies are rolled in cinnamon sugar for a sweet and spicy flavour.



Here is a recipe for snickerdoodles:

Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For rolling:

  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla, and beat until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon for rolling.
  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
