Snickerdoodles
These soft and slightly chewy cookies are rolled in cinnamon sugar for a sweet and spicy flavour.
Here is a recipe for snickerdoodles:
Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For rolling:
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla, and beat until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon for rolling.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Enjoy your snickerdoodles!
