Roast Turkey
A classic Christmas dinner dish, roast turkey can be flavoured with a variety of seasonings such as herbs, garlic, and citrus.
To roast a turkey, you will need:
- A turkey (the size will depend on the number of people you are serving)
- Olive oil or melted butter
- Salt and pepper
- Any additional seasonings or herbs of your choice (such as garlic, rosemary, thyme, etc.)
Here is a basic recipe for roasting a turkey:
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
Rinse the turkey and pat it dry with paper towels. Place it in a roasting pan.
Brush the turkey with olive oil or melted butter and season it with salt and pepper. You can also add additional herbs or seasonings to the oil or butter before brushing the turkey if you like.
Roast the turkey for 20 minutes at 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, reduce the heat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and continue roasting for an additional 2-3 hours, or until the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit when measured with a meat thermometer.
Once the turkey is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15-30 minutes before carving. This will allow the juices to redistribute, making the turkey more moist and flavourful.
Enjoy your roast turkey!
